Deadly Crash In Pueblo

Pueblo police said a 21-year-old man has died after a crash at Northern Avenue and Santa Fe Drive Friday morning. Officers said a car rear-ended a diesel truck at the intersection.

Police said they suspect sun glare as a cause for the crash.

Alcohol, drugs, and speed are not considered factors at this time. Investigators said they think the driver was traveling at about 40 miles per hour, which is close to the speed limit in the area.

Officers said they had trouble seeing the intersection as they approached the crash site because of sun glare.

They said drivers can take small steps such as wearing sunglasses and using sun visors when appropriate.

However, police said those steps will not always prevent drivers from being affected by sun glare. They said drivers always need to slow down and use caution when approaching an intersection.
