Train Hits Car, Woman Hurt
A 76 year old woman suffered head injuries Tuesday when her car was hit by a coal train.
The accident happened around 2:00 p.m. just outside the Fowler Cemetery.
State patrol says the driver failed to stop at a stop sign before proceeding across the tracks.
She realized she was in trouble and tried to back up off the tracks, but it was too late. The train struck the front of the car, spinning it around.
The unidentified woman lives in Fowler. She was taken to St. Mary Corwin Medical Center in Pueblo where she was treated for head injuries.
