Deadly Shooting In Fremont Co.
Fremont County Deputies are investigating a deadly shooting.
Deputies tell KRDO Newschannel 13 that a 53 year old male was found shot Sunday evening. Deputies responded to the home on a report that a man shot himself in the head. The victim was lying on the floor of a motorhome parked at the campground. A handgun was located near the victim.
45 year old, Valorie Jean Rice, who lived in the motorhome with the victim was questioned and subsequently placed into custody for domestic violence harassment. Rice had been in the motorhome with the victim at the time of the shooting. Witnesses stated that Rice and the victim had been fighting just before the shooting. Rice was booked into the Fremont County Detention Center on a no bond hold.
Because of the suspicious circumstances surrounding the shooting, the Colorado Bureau of Investigations will assist detectives in processing the scene.
