Colorado Springs police are looking a person who led police on a high speed chase through Colorado Springs.

It all started shortly after 3 a.m. on the area of Airport Road and South Chelton Road.

Police responded to a call about a gun being fired. While investigating that call officers heard shots from the 3433 hundred block of Michigan Avenue.

Seconds later, police saw a white Chevrolet Blazer flee the scene at a high rate of speed.

Officers attempted a traffic stop but the blazer didn’t stop.

When speeds reached excessive speeds officers stopped the pursuit.

Less than 10 minutes later, police responded to a traffic crash at Airport Road and Printers Parkway.

Police say the Blazer left the roadway and hit a tree.
