Bomb Squad Investigation Shuts Down Colorado Ave.

A two-block area was closed around Colorado Avenue and Limit Friday night, due to a bomb squad investigation.

Investigators tell KRDO Newschannel 13 that a man discovered a World War Two Japanese-style grenade while cleaning out his storage unit. He then brought the device to the fire station. The bomb squad later determined it to be safe. Ft. Carson officials were called to pick up the device and dispose of it.

Officials wanted to remind the public to not move suspected incendiary devices; rather call police to safely investigate first.
