Police Catch Suspected Machete Robber

Colorado Springs police say they have arrested the man suspected of robbing a pizza business with a machete.

On Friday morning Colorado Springs Police received a tip that the suspect, 43 year old Howard York was at a mobile home in Manitou Springs.

Police went to the El Paso Mobile Home Community at 15 El Paso Avenue in Manitou Springs where officers and detectives set up surveillance, according to police.

After a couple hours the suspect came out of the home and police took him into custody, said police.

York is facing a charge of aggravated robbery in connection to a robbery at the Papa Muphy’s at 3105 West Colorado Avenue on January 30th.

He was immediately intercepted and detained. Based on numerous factors linking him to the crime, Howard York, 43, was arrested and is charged with Aggravated Robbery, police said.

The victim who was working at the time was threatened with a machete, which was held to his neck during the robbery, police said.
