CDOT Begins Nearly $1 Mil Project To Keep Wildlife Off I-25

The Colorado Department of Transportation has begun a project to install a deer fence along 6 miles of Interstate 25 from Fountain to just south of PPIR.

Posts for the fence are already going in along the interstate. The project runs from just south of the Pikes Peak International Raceway to Exit 128 at Fountain, according to Bog Wilson with CDOT.

The project includes the installation of deer fence, wildlife ramps and cattle guards, said Wilson.

The project is expected to be done by the end of June and occasionally will result on some lane closures, said Wilson.

The cost of the project is $953,000, Wilson said.
