Pueblo Man Arrested For Allegedly Kidnapping Wife

Pueblo Police have arrested a man for allegedly kidnapping his wife and threatening to kill her.

32-year-old Steven Villegas Jr. was arrested Wednesday night after a short police chase.

Villegas was driving with his wife when she called 911. The dispatcher could hear him making threats to her and saying he would “take them both out if he had to.”

Officers found the car after a short pursuit on Fordham Circle. Villegas crashed the car into some rocks then ran away.

Police chased Villegas and found him hiding in a shed. One officer twisted his ankle during the chase and was treated at the hospital.

Villegas faces charges of first degree kidnapping, first degree assault, menacing, and criminal mischief. His wife was treated and released from the hospital after sustaining some injuries in the assault and crash.
