Elementary Student Threatens Classmates

A 9-year-old boy at Springs Ranch Elementary made a hit list including names of students he wanted to kill.

Falcon District 49 spokeswoman Stephanie Meredith said a fourth grade teacher had concerns about the student’s behavior. She found the list in the classroom.

The teacher immediately notified administrators who then contacted Colorado Springs Police, said Meredith.

Parents of every student involved was called to meet with the principal.

“Anytime we have a concern like this, it’s a really serious issue. We want to make sure every single child is taken care of and every single child is safe,” said Meredith.

A parent of one of the students threatened said she was told the boy was taken out of the school. It’s unknown if the student will return.

Meredith said disciplinary action will be taken, but specifics were not given.
