Rick Santorum Holds Rally In Colorado Springs

Hopeful Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum held a rally in Colorado Springs on Tuesday before the caucuses for a last minute push.

Santorum focused his speech on the problems he plans to fix if he makes it to the White House, including health care, bailouts and the economy.

Santorum said he is the best choice to be president but refuses to run a smear campaign to get there. “I’m just trying to talk about where their positioned on issues, where I’m positioned on the issues and who’s the best person to take on President Obama.”

Supporters at the rally believe along with Santorum that the packed event will improve their chances with tonight’s caucuses. “It’s a standing-room-only crowd. I was pleased that there was no room for anyone else to get in here,” said Rich Crawford, a supporter of Santorum.

The former senator’s message for Colorado voters was clear, “It’s your turn,” he said. “It’s Colorado’s turn tonight. Colorado has the opportunity to do what no one was expecting, which is to provide a little surprise to the inevitable march of Gov. Romney.”

Colorado Republicans will hold their caucus Tuesday evening.
