D-60 Fighting For More Middle Schoolers

Fewer kids are enrolling in middle school in Pueblo. According to enrollment figures from the Colorado Department of Education, elementary school enrollment is where it should be, but the number drops as kids enter middle school and has for a number of years. The decrease in D-60 is countered by an uptick of middle schoolers in Pueblo County (District 70).

District 60 officials hope to buck the several year trend with a realignment plan. The school board will discuss the plan at a work session at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the district’s administration building,located at 315 West 11th Street.
