Police have identified the driver as Anthony Medina, 18. Officers said he tried to flee on foot after the accident, but they soon caught up with him. He was hiding under a nearby bridge, police said.

All three passengers in the car were taken to the hospital. Two suffered serious, but non-life-threatening injuries. One suffered minor injuries.

Police said Medina is facing several charges including vehicular assault, driving under the influence and felony eluding.
