Dougherty Brothers Appear In Court
Two brothers accused in a crime spree in Florida and Georgia, Ryan Doughtery and Dylan Stanley-Dougherty, appeared in court Monday morning.
Ryan Doughtery, sporting a short mohawk, appeared in the Huerfano County courtroom at 10:00 a.m. The judge ordered that Ryan must enter a plea on Feb. 16th or a date will be set for trial.
The judge then turned his attention to Dylan Doughterty. He expressed his frustration that Dylan was in the Huerfano County courtroom and not in Pueblo, as ordered. “Take him (Ryan) out and bring the one I ordered not to be here, here,” the judge said. The judge had previously ordered that Dylan should appear via video from a Pueblo courtroom and not transported to the Huerfano County courtroom. The judge ordered that on Feb. 6th Dylan will appear via video in Pueblo to file conspiracy to escape charges. On Feb. 16th, Dylan will be in Huerfano to either enter his disposition or enter a plea.
Dylan Dougherty faces new charges after he got out of his cell through a plumbing access panel and got a note to his sister telling her he was going to break her out of jail.
He faces charges of conspiracy to escape and possession of contraband for the alleged escape plan discovered during a Jan. 10 search.
According to an arrest affidavit, deputies found a homemade knife and letter to the FBI in his cell. A deputy who followed the plumbing into the ceiling found footprints, as a well as a note to Lee Grace Dougherty saying he planned to subdue guards, steal their keys, and escape with her.
