Hearing Set For AF Academy Sexual Misconduct Case
One of three Air Force Academy cadets charged with sexual misconduct is scheduled to have a hearing before a military court.
Stephan H. Claxton is charged with attempted abusive sexual contact, wrongful sexual contact, assault and underage drinking. His hearing is scheduled for Thursday.
Abusive sexual contact carries a sentences of up to seven years in prison, dismissal and forfeiture of pay and allowances. It wasn’t immediately clear if a conviction for attempted abusive contact would carry the same penalty.
Claxton’s military attorney has declined comment.
Another cadet faces a charge of rape and a third faces a charge of aggravated sexual assault. Academy officials say the three cases are unrelated.
