Homeless Man Fights Charges
Roy Gleiter was arrested for camping alongside Highway 50 and was in court Wednesday morning.
What many would call a rough few days, Roy Gleiter called something else, ?outstanding.?
He said he is doing outstanding despite being in court Wednesday morning and being evicted from his home. He?s been living in a tent alongside Highway 50 traveling Washington State.
Its part of the mission to make our country a better place.
?I’m not just fighting for me. I’m fighting for America,? said Roy Gleiter.
His fight was put on hold when he was arrested. He is being charged with criminal trespassing and misuse of public property.
?Governor Hickenlooper thought he was going to win,? said Gleiter.
The fight isn?t over, said Gleiter. He has been released from jail on the condition that he stay in a homeless shelter. POSADA put him in a motel for one week.
In an earlier interview, Gleiter told KRDO NewsChannel 13. He would donate all his belongings if he was arrested. He kept his promise.
?He has really helped out a lot and it always when we are low and he says, I have some food come get it,? said Heather Trujillo from T-Bone Rescue.
He?s donated several bags of dog food to T-Bone Rescue.
T-Bone rescue is also taking care of his dogs until Gleiter can continue his journey.
?I’m going to finish this. This has to happen for the American people,? said Gleiter.
Gleiter said he plans on continuing his March and head to Washington State. He will be court again on Monday.
