Traffic Stop Leads To Drug Bust

A Colorado Springs man is behind bars after a routine traffic stop turns into a drug bust.

Officers pulled over Donald Sims at St. Vrain Street and Swope Avenue at about 20 minutes til 9 Saturday night. Sims did not have a license and is listed as a habitual traffic offender. Officers say he had a bulge in his cheek. When they asked what it was he took off running. Officers caught up with him and he got away a second time. One officer used their taser on the suspect and arrested him.

Police say they found a clear baggie with 10 smaller bags containing cocaine. Sims was arrested for traffic violations and narcotics charges.
