Robert Bruce Sentenced In Attempted Sex Assault

Robert Bruce was sentenced to 24 years in prison on two crimes stemming from the attempted sexual assault of a woman in Pueblo.

Bruce, also known as “Ether Man,” received the maximum 6-year sentence for attempted sexual assault and 24 years, also the maximum, for burglary.

Both the 6-year sentence and the 24-year sentence will be served concurrently to the previous 64-year sentence Bruce received when he was convicted of attempted murder last year.

Bruce tried to kill Pueblo Police Officer Nathan Pruce in order to stop him from testifying in a peeping tom case. Pruce, and his family were not hurt after Bruce rigged a propane tank to leak into Officer Pruce’s Pueblo West home.

Bruce is facing sex assault charges in five states for allegedly grabbing women and disabling them by placing a cloth with ether on it over their mouths.

The judge allowed Bruce’s sentences to be concurrent because Bruce is cooperating with authorities.
