Update: Santorum Edges Romney In Iowa After All

Republican officials say the certified vote count from the Iowa caucuses will show a reversal of Mitt Romney’s eight vote win over Rick Santorum when it’s announced Thursday.

The Iowa GOP says that after a recount Rick Santorum wound up with a 34-vote advantage over presumed winner Mitt Romney in the Iowa Caucus.

Results from eight precincts are still missing, meaning there will always be a question mark hanging over this race.

Meanwhile, Politico’s new poll shows Newt Gingrich narrowing the gap with frontrunner Mitt Romney in South Carolina.
