KRDO NewsChannel 13, in beautiful Colorado Springs, Colorado, located on the Front Range of the Colorado Rockies, is looking for a top notch, hands-on News Producer. If you are a newsroom leader looking for a challenging opportunity, then this is the place for you.
Duties and Responsibilities: The News Producer creates, coordinates, and executes all newscasts. This position provides editorial and production direction to field crews regarding content, coordination and newscast execution. In addition, the News Producer coordinates efforts of Anchors, Reporters, Editors and other staff toward crafting a compelling newscast; develops day-to-day on-air look of the newscast to attract the largest available audience to the station?s profitable newscasts; previews news material before airing; writes, edits, and researches show elements; coordinates breaking stories; selects graphics and pre-production elements; times the show while on air; meets all requirements of commercial content and off-times; coordinates with Anchors and Reporters to develop effective promotions for upcoming shows, newscasts and events; assists the assignment desk and edits tape as necessary; uses social media to drive traffic to newscast and website; writes stories for the web and news ticker.
Requirements: You must have a bachelor?s degree in Broadcast Journalism, Communications or a related field, or equivalent training and/or experience.
