Investigators Arrest 4 People, Seize 7 Pounds Of Meth

Four people are arrested Thursday for felony drug charges in Colorado Springs.

40-year-old Vincente Martinez, 27-year-old Jovel Cristian, 21-year-old Martin Martinez, and 27-year-old Rafael Amezcua, all of Los Angeles, were arrested at a local motel.

Agents developed information that a large shipment of methamphetamine had been transported to Colorado Springs from California by the defendants. After locating the defendants at the motel, a search of their vehicle resulted in the seizure of seven pounds of methamphetamine that was concealed in a hidden compartment.

The investigation was conducted by members of the DEA Southern Colorado Drug Task Force, which is comprised of agents from the DEA, Colorado Springs Police Department, El Paso County Sheriff’s Department, Pueblo Police Department, Pueblo County Sheriff’s Department, Colorado State Patrol, and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement.

This seizure is one of several recent methamphetamine seizures made by the DEA Southern Colorado Drug Task Force. Since October 2011, the Drug Task Force has seized 70 pounds of methamphetamine and arrested 24 defendants.
