Broncos Season Brings Big Business

It was a disappointing game Saturday, but this Broncos season has been anything but for a lot of businesses. The team’s unpredictable run into the playoffs scored big at the cash register for many sports bars, restaurants and food delivery places.

Rich Forbush, the general manager at Buffalo Wild Wings on Geyser Drive, said business was booming on Broncos game days, at his store and locations across the state.

“We’ve had, I want to say, at least ten record weeks as far as sales,” said Forbrush. “Ten record days’ sales also.”

It was a full house Saturday at Johnny’s Navajo Hogan for the final game, with some fans even reserving tables.

“We probably doubled our sales on game days,” said Johnny Nolan, who also owns Southside Johnny’s downtown.

Nolan credited a certain quarterback with adding to the enthusiasm he’s seen from customers.

“With the Tim Tebow thing, everybody’s on board now,” he said.

While some packed into bars and restaurants, others enjoyed their game days with food delivered to their homes.

Louie Sciarrotta, owner of the five Louie’s Pizza locations in Colorado Springs, said he hasn’t seen such a Broncos business boost since the late 1990s when they won the Super Bowl two years in a row.

“Football season is always great, but when the Broncos are doing great, it’s always better,” said Sciarrotta.
