Springs Police Respond to Several Hit-and-Runs

Colorado Springs police respond to several hit-and-run accidents early Sunday morning.

Officers think the crashes happened as people were leaving the Pale Horse Bar and Lounge around closing time.

A tan SUV crashed into a white car and then a tow truck before taking off, police said. As it was leaving the area, the driver hit a light pole.

The tow truck driver followed the car to Bijou and Chelton.

The SUV crashed into a building and was no longer drivable.

Police say the driver and his passenger took off on foot.

Police searched the area but couldn’t find them.

A short time later, another hit and run happened at the Pale Horse Bar.

Police say a 30-year-old man was driving drunk. He crashed into the same white car that had already been hit.

Miguel Vasquez was arrested for DUI and hit-and-run. Utilities crews are working on fixing the light pole.

If you have any information on these accidents, call police at 444-7000.
