Suspect In Walmart Attack Being Held In Denver

Thornton police say a man suspected of threatening a woman outside a Walmart store is in custody.

Police identified the suspect as 29-year-old Daniel Matthew Krajnik.

A warrant for his arrest was issued Jan. 2 after he escaped from the Colorado Department of Corrections.

On Jan. 3, he is suspected of following a woman inside a Walmart to her vehicle, grabbing her arm, displaying and handgun and threatening her to get in the vehicle.

Bystanders came to help her after she screamed.

The next day Krajnik turned himself in on the escape warrant.

Thornton police obtained an arrest warrant for him Friday on charges of attempted first-degree kidnapping and felony menacing.

He is being held in Denver.
