Suspect Arrested In Liquor Store Robbery

Police have arrested the suspect in one of two December 26th robberies of J’s Liquor at 31 E. Fillmore St. The liquor store was robbed two separate times within two hours.

27-year-old Mark Burdine was arrested in the 3500 block of N. Cascade Thursday afternoon. During the robbery, Burdine jumped over the counter, assaulted the clerk and stole an undisclosed amount of cash from the register.

In the first robbery, 36-year-old Ron Mullens was stopped by employees as he tried to steal several bottles from the premises.

The two cases are unrelated. Detectives say the robberies are also unrelated to the string of four liquor store robberies on December 29th.
