UPDATE: Southbound I-25 South Of Pueblo Open

There was an accident Wednesday morning on I-25 south of Pueblo that closed the interstate for about two hours.

The accident involved a semi trailer and a van.

Southbound I-25 was closed at mile marker 71, about 23 miles south of Pueblo near the Colorado City exit. The interstate closed around 8:50 a.m. and re-opened around 10:40 a.m.

Traffic was diverted through the median while the road was closed.

Colorado State Patrol spokeswoman Heather Cobler said it appears that the van rear ended the tractor-trailer. The truck was pulling a tanker but she said it’s not leaking.

It is unknown how many people were involved in the accident.
