UPDATE: Liquor Store Robbed Twice Within Two Hours

A liquor store was robbed twice in a matter of less than two hours Monday Night.

It happened at J’s Liquors near the intersection of Fillmore and Cascade.

In the second incident, Springs Police say a suspect came into the store about 7:43 p.m. and jumped over the counter.

He hit the clerk over the eye before grabbing a handful of money from the register.

He then ran down a nearby alley and jumped into a waiting car.

Police do have a store video of the robbery, and are reviewing it for clues.

The first incident happened just after 6:00p.m. Monday.

In that robbery, 36-year-old Ron Mullens was stopped by employees as he tried to steal several bottles from the premises.

Workers ended up in a scuffle with the man while the police were called.

When officers arrived, the man was still struggling. He was tased as he tried to flee on foot.

Mullens had several minor cuts and abrasions from fighting with store employees.

He was treated at a local hospital before being booked.

It is not known if the suspects in the two incidents are related. Police did not specify if it was the same store employee involved in both incidents.
