Update: Fire Under Control At Broadmoor Resort

A small interior wall fire is out Monday night, after crews were called out to the historic Broadmoor resort for a fire in the service wing.

Colorado Springs responded to provide mutual aid to the Broadmoor fire district.

The first alarm went out about 6:40 p.m., after employees reported seeing smoke in a worker’s lounge.

When crews arrived, they were told that there had been a small fire on the roof of a building, but it was extinguished by Broadmoor employees.

Fire crews found an area about a yard square where fire was still burning inside the wall between the employee’s cafeteria and the residential section of the hotel.

The fire was under control about 40 minutes after crews arrived. Crews destroyed an interior wall and parts of a floor while searching for the fire.

One person was treated for light smoke inhalation, but was released.

NEWSCHANNEL 13 has a crew on scene, and will post more details on this story as they become available.
