Officer-Involved Shooting In Pueblo

A Pueblo police officer was involved in shooting early Thursday morning.

Officers say it happened around 3:15 a.m. near 8th Street and Monument Avenue on Pueblo’s east side.

Police were called there about a domestic disturbance. When they arrived, police said they found 20-year-old Guillermo Noriega holding 19-year old Jessica Duran at knife-point.

Police say a scuffle ensued between the man and the woman, so police fired. Officers fired several rounds that struck Noriega several times in the torso.

He was taken to Parkview Medical Center, where he was later pronounced dead.

The 10th Judicial District Critical incident team has been activated and the investigation is continuing at this time.
