Latest Snow Keeps Plows Busy

Several inches of snow accumulated around Colorado Springs, and snowpacked roads made for problems during the Thursday morning commute.

While many dreaded the snowfall, others welcomed its arrival.

Jon Rick, owner of J.Rick Lawn and Tree, said they have been anxiously awaiting a big storm to hit the springs.

?I got very excited that we were going to be able to go out and make some revenues actually, from some snow, since that hasn?t happened all that much this year,? said Rick.

Rick makes a profit from removing snow from private parties, like commercial parking lots. He said he has been plowing the roads since late Wednesday night, and will continue to do so until the job is done.

?That?s the big thing when it snows, we have to go because we don?t know when this is going to happen again. So, anytime that it is snowing we need to go out and try to make as much money as we can to make business run, basically? said Rick.

Rick said seeing several days of steady snow has really helped to boost his business, and is especially appreciated during the holiday season.
