AWOL Soldier Sentenced For Kidnapping Daughter

A father charged with kidnapping his one-month-old has been sentenced to two years in ComCorr.

Derik Hembree kidnapped his daughter, Brooke, while he was AWOL from Fort Carson. He had been AWOL from Fort Carson since May and kidnapped his daughter in early August.

Hembree dropped off his daughter at a fire station in Lawton, Okla. on August 23rd, with a note with all of her information. He was arrested the next day in Lawton.

Brooke?s mother, Nicole Brewer, said her daughter was in good health and was returned to Colorado Springs.
