Man Stabbed During Attempted Robbery

Springs police say a man was stabbed during an early morning attempted robbery Sunday.

Police say they responded to a call about a party outside a home in the 500 block of Yuma Street. The caller said he had been stabbed,

When officers arrived they found Kenneth Fisher with a stab wound. Fisher told police that a black man tried to rob him in the area of Williamette Avenue and Yuma Street. The man stabbed Fisher when he realized Fisher had no money, according to officials.

Police say the only description of the man who tried to rob Fisher is that he is a black man wearing a gold chain.

Fisher was taken to Memorial Hospital with serious injuries but police say he is expected to survive.
