Closed Colorado Springs Post Office Opening On Saturday

The Uintah Street Post Office in Colorado Springs will re-open for regular business Saturday morning at 8:00 a.m.

The Post Office was closed for the week after two men were found in the lobby with meth-making materials, Colorado Springs police said.

The Post Office decided to hire an independent company to clean up the post office in an attempt to insure the safety of postal employees and the public, said Ron Perry of the Postal Service in Colorado Springs.

The post office at Uintah street was given a clean bill of health Friday evening and will be back open with all services Saturday, Perry said.

A mobile post office operated at Uintah Street for the week providing package and mail pick up.

The Postal Service thanks its customers for their patience and understanding over the last week, said Perry.
