200 Fort Carson Soldiers Welcomed Home

There is a welcome home ceremony for over 200 Fort Carson Soldiers Friday at 10:00 a.m.

Soldiers of the 4th Infantry Division’s 2nd Brigade Combat Team deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom are returning home approximately six months ahead of schedule due to the successful completion of their mission in their operating area.

During its current deployment, the Warhorse brigade is working closely with Afghan National Army and Afghan Uniformed Police to increase stability and security throughout Afghanistan’s western province of Herat. They are also conducting humanitarian aid projects, patrols and combat outpost defense. The 2nd BCT Soldiers remaining in Afghanistan will continue these missions.
