House Fire Under Investigation

Crews have gained the upper hand on a fire that destroyed a Manitou home Tuesday night.

The fire, which started a little after 7:00 in the evening, was burning at a home at 1340 Upper Sun Valley Lane in Crystal Park.

Rough, heavily wooded terrain created plenty of challenges for crews, leading to fears that the flames could spread to the surrounding woods.

The home is a total loss.

Firefighters were able to save a detached garage that had a Harley Davidson motorcycle inside.

No one was inside when the fire started and no injuries were reported.

The Red Cross is helping out the displaced family.

The Crystal Park Volunteer Fire Department has started a donation fund for the family as well.
