Homeowner Holds Burglar At Gun Point

A homeowner stopped a burglary in progress by holding the thief at gun point.

Pueblo County Sheriff’s Deputies got a phone call on Sunday night from a homeowner who reported a man had entered his residence without permission.

Deputies reported to the home in the 26000 block of South Rd. in eastern Pueblo County and found the homeowner holding the male suspect at gun point in the kitchen area.

The suspect was identified as 22-year-old Jacob Pino. According to deputies, Pino was taken into custody without incident.

Pino was wearing several layers of clothing and his shoes had plastic bags placed over them to prevent him from leaving shoe prints. He was also wearing gloves and had a black nylon mask on his head. Pino entered the home with a back pack which was found on scene. Inside the back pack, deputies found a 22 caliber handgun. Deputies also found the homeowner’s money clip on Pino.

A Pueblo County Sheriff says Pino is lucky that the homeowner showed restraint and deputies were able to get to the scene quickly.

Pino was booked into the Pueblo County jail for charges of first degree burglary, theft, and possession of burglary tools.
