Immigration Red Card Gaining Interest
An immigration strategy hatched by a denver-based foundation that relies heavily on the private sector is gaining national interest.
Republican Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich endorsed the red card solution during a debate last month. The Krieble Foundation program would allow foreign workers to be legally employed in the U.S. as long as they have a job. As soon as that job’s over the card would be revoked and the worker would have to go home. The card is not a path to citizenship.
The Department of Homeland Security would run background checks before an individual could get the card.
