UPDATE: More Evidence Against Teller Couple Accused Of Sex Assault
KRDO Newchannel 13 has obtained a list of evidence found by investigators after they searched the home of a Florissant couple accused of sexually assaulting a young girl.
Investigators found many items the girl described when she was interviewed about alleged sexual encounters with Rocky and Karen Clark, including a small sample of suspected marijuana, electric shavers and stained sheets and bedding.
Also found were nude photos, including one depicting a “young girl of questionable age.”
Investigators took swabbings from the carpets and walls of the home and cut out a stained area from a rubberized sheet on the bed.
Karen Clark was arrested last Thursday and charged with four counts of sexual assault on a child and one count of contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Clark’s husband, Rocky, committed suicide the week before, days after Teller County investigators searched their home in the Wilson Lakes subdivision.
The alleged victim, now a teen, told investigators that the abuse started when she was 11 and happened “a lot of times, too many to count” in the course of more than two years.
She said she first met her neighbors when she returned a wagon her mom had borrowed, and that Rocky Clark invited her to come back the next day. She said, from there, the Clarks began engaging her in different sex acts, including intercourse. The girl said the couple gave her marijuana and bought her sex toys which they told her to call “Kyle or vib” in email conversations.
KRDO Newschannel 13 was the first to obtain the graphic and detailed arrest affidavit for Karen Clark. It states, “Rocky and Karen told (the girl) that if she told anyone it would come back on her.” The girl said “they told her she would be the one to get in trouble and that it would ruin her life because she was the one who asked for it.”
Investigators said they searched the girl’s email and Facebook accounts and found a large volume of correspondence between Rocky, Karen and the girl dating back to 2009. According to arrest records, “in many of the emails between Rocky and (the girl), Rocky calls her honey and baby and many times he tells her he loves her.”
Investigators said they found an email from Karen discussing the use of a vibrator and sex, and other messages referring to ‘Kyle.’ They said an email from Rocky states, “Karen and (her mother-in-law) are in Colorado Springs for the next three hours. Want to learn something?????? Bring Kyle or Mr. B.”
KRDO Newschannel 13 reached Karen Clark, who is now out on $50,000 bail, by phone Tuesday. She would not comment on her relationship with the girl.
“There’s absolutely no truth to any of the allegations, but that’s all I have to say,” said Clark. “Thanks very much, goodbye.”
The girl gave investigators specific details about the Clarks’ home, their personal belongings, as well as tattoos and marks on their bodies, some in intimate areas.
The Teller County Sheriff’s Office obtained a search warrant for the couples’ home, truck and both of them several days before Rocky Clark committed suicide.
