Springs Selects Contractor For Snow Plowing Pilot

The City of Colorado Springs announced Tuesday that Landscape Assist/Sod Tech’s best value proposal was selected by an evaluation committee for contract negotiations to perform snow removal in Grid 5.

Grid 5 is 10.86 square miles, stretching from Old Ranch Rd. north to North Gate Blvd., with an east boundary of Highway 83, Shoup Rd. and Howells Rd. and a west boundary of I-25.

Contract negotiations will take place over the next few weeks before a final contract is awarded. Cost information and other details will be not be released until a contract has been signed.

The Streets Division will continue to perform snow removal in Grid 5 until a contractor is in place for the pilot program. According to a release from October, the anticipated start date for a contract would be on or after January 1, 2012.
