Burglary Suspects Caught After Foot Chase
Colorado Springs Police Department has caught two burglary suspects near Constitution and Murray.
Police say they got reports of two men running from a home in the area.
When they found the suspects, one surrendered but the second suspect ran off.
Police say their K9 unit was able to track the second suspect to an area near Irving Middle School.
“T.J. did take him down and was able to hold him down until officers were able to put handcuffs on him,” said Sgt. Brian Cummings of the Colorado Springs Police Department.
Both suspects are now in custody and police say they will be facing first degree burglary charges.
Police say the suspects had items from the burglary on them, including jewelry and electronics.
Police told KRDO Newschannel 13 that they have confirmed the suspects involvement in two separate burglaries, and are continuing to investigate their possible involvement in others.
CSPD requested Irving Middle School to be put on lock-down but the suspects were caught soon after the request. The school was never officially locked down.
