Update: New Wrinkle For Missing Bankruptcy Paperwork
One Colorado Springs family, not happy with a bankruptcy preparer who they think didn’t do her job. Jennifer and Brian Baetz showed me receipts totaling $225 to C.M.E. Bankruptcy Prep.
The Baetz say they’ve been getting the runaround via emails and phone call tag with the president of the company, Yvonne Turpin. They said that C.M.E. was supposed to get the file together last month. The Baetz believe the delay has cost them thousands in late fees.
C.M.E.’s Yvonne Turpin called me just before Friday night’s 6 p.m. news. She told me that she’s willing to give the Baetz family their paperwork on Monday. Turpin added that she will consult her attorney before deciding what to do with the $225 fee.
UPDATE: Late Monday afternoon, Yvonne Turpin dropped off the paperwork for the Baetz family. I called the couple to tell them the good news. So far, nothing firm about returning the $225 fee to the Baetzs.
