Officer Ken Jordan Remembered

A frigid five years later to remember the death of Colorado Springs Police Officer Ken Jordan. Jordan was shot late night, December 4th. He died early morning December 5th at the hospital.

Jordan was backup to d.u.i. stop in the four thousand block of east fountain. Marco Lee shot him four times. Officers shot Lee, too. He recovered and is now serving life plus 167 years in prison.

I spoke to Officer Jason Falette who was with Officer Jordan the day he died and also a good friend. Falette told me, “We lost a tremendous officer for what he did for this community and what he meant to his family and friends. You just can’t sum that up. It left a hole in our lives.”

I met with Officer Falette at the northeast Colorado Springs park that is named after Ken Jordan. Falette told me that Ken was not a proud person, not interested in accolades. However, Falette added that Ken’s love of the outdoors and the fact that this park has so many fun things for kids would mean a lot to him.
