Fire In Condemned Home May Be Arson
Investigators suspect arson could be the cause of a house fire this morning. Firefighters got the call a little before 8 a.m. Sunday morning for a house fire on the 5100 block of Balsam Street.
Firefighters had to be extra careful because the home was infested with black mold.
The home was abandoned and neighbors said the house had been boarded up for years.
?We’re very happy that nobody was inside the home when it was on fire. We’re very thrilled that no firefighters were hurt because its slick conditions and cold out,? said Lt. with the Colorado Springs Fire Department.
