Police: Explosion On Wooten From Explosive Device

A group of businesses were rattled by a small explosion on the city’s south-east side Friday.

Colorado Springs Police tell KRDO Newschannel 13 that they found a piece of metal shrapnel in the area. They also say they may have found the location where an “explosive device” detonated next to the Siemens building. They are looking for suspects who they say would face felony charges.

CSFD responded to the scene to search for the source of the explosion.

After investigation, the location of the explosion was not found and fire crews were released from the scene. No injuries have been reported.

One viewer tells KRDO Newschannel 13 that the explosion scared her and her coworkers. She says they saw a “huge puff of smoke.”

According to scanner reports, a police officer said they felt shaking in the area when the explosion was heard. They described debris flying in the air and colored smoke rising for a moment.
