Father Shoots Son At Mobile Home Park
There was a shooting at a mobile home park at 8160 Piute Road.
EPSO tells KRDO Newschannel 13 that a 41-year-old man was shot by his father, 63-year-old Michael Charles McIntyre.
McIntyre was booked into CJC for Assault in the Second Degree.
McIntyre was initially taken in for questioning but was not under arrest.
The sheriff’s office says the son is in surgery and is expected to live.
A Fountain Fort Carson Elementary school bus rerouted to avoid the scene. Officials say the bus did not drop kids off at Fort Carson’s gate 5 which is just west of the crime scene because the driver noticed police activity. The bus continued to the rest of its route first, then returned to that stop and dropped the students off. They did specifically know about the shooting.
Neighbors tell us that the father and son live in one of the mobile homes. They say they hear them argue often, but they do not know the reason for their arguments. The neighbor says McIntyre seems like a nice guy but they are not surprised this happened.
KRDO Newschannel 13 has a crew on scene. Stay tuned to KRDO.com and Newschannel 13 for updates.
