UPDATE: Woman Tries To Stab Mall Security Guard With Pen

Pueblo Crime Stoppers asks for your help to locate a suspect in a robbery.

The suspect has been identified as 30-year-old Jewelsette Cruz. An arrest warrant has been requested for Cruz.

The incident happened at the Pueblo Mall on Wednesday, Nov. 16. Pueblo Police they were dispatched to the mall on reports of someone shoplifting at Dillard’s.

Dillard’s security team says they witnessed a light Hispanic female, now identified as Cruz, take six pairs of jeans (estimated at $90.00 each) and try to leave the store without paying. Security guards approached the suspect outside the store and questioned her about the shoplifting.

When the security guard attempted to escort Cruz back inside, she became extremely combative and tried to stab the guard multiple times with a pen.

During the altercation, her purse strap broke and she ran off. Security officers chased Cruz on foot briefly before they lost sight of her.
