Pueblo Dad Accused Of Killing 5-month-Old Son
Detectives from Pueblo’s Special Victims Unit have arrested a baby’s father in connection to his recent death.
Anthony Angel, 23, is facing charges of 1st degree murder and child abuse resulting in death.
The case was first opened on Friday, November 18th, when the baby was rushed to Parkview medical center.
At the time, doctors noted that the baby had no clear signs of trauma, but did have bleeding on his brain.
Baby Antonio was removed from life support the following Monday.
An autopsy showed that Angel’s son, five-month-old Antonio, died of severe blunt trauma to his brain. Medical professionals determined that this was an acute injury, meaning it was caused by some sort of blow.
No other details were released.
In a related note, it was discovered during the investigation that the baby’s mother, 23-year-old Brandi Strawn, had been involved in a theft.
Strawn was booked into the county jail on felony theft by receiving and pawn broker violations.
