Widefield School District Says Strangers Approached Girl

Widefield School District 3 alerted Sproul Junior High and North Preschool parents Tuesday after a sixth-grader at Sproul was approached by strangers.

The student said that two men motioned for her to come over to their truck as she was walking home from school. The girl said both men were white with shaggy hair, and were driving in a gold-silver pickup truck with a red front bumper.

In an email to parents, the district said that the girl ran to a staff member to report what happened. The staff member alerted administration and the incident was reported to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

If you have information on the incident call the sheriff’s office at (719) 390-5555.

It’s the second time this month that a D-3 student has been approached by strangers. On November 7, a fifth-grader at French Elementary said two Hispanic men followed her in their sedan on her way to school. She said one man got out of the car, and began following her on foot. When the girl started running, the man got back into the car and drove away with the other suspect.
