UPDATE: Train Back On Track Near Ft. Carson

Fort Carson officials say a train track has been repaired after a train derailment on Thursday.

The derailment happened near Ft. Carson in the area of S. Academy Boulevard and B Street.

A Fort Carson Public Affairs spokesperson tells KRDO.com and KRDO NewsChannel 13, three rail cars tipped over around 9:45 a.m. on Thursday. The convoy was carrying military vehicles just inside gate 4 on the Mountain Post.

There were no injuries and no hazardous materials concerns, according to public affairs at Ft. Carson. They say the vehicles on the rail cars and the rail cars had minimal damage.

The equipment was returning from a training mission, public affairs said.
