Firefighters Investigate 3 Grass Fires

Colorado Springs firefighters investigate 3 grass fires along Highway 83 in the area of Old Ranch.

The fires started Friday morning and officials said all 3 fires were quickly contained.

Lt. Brian Keys with the Colorado Springs Fire Department called the fires small, but suspicious because of the quarter mile distance between them. It would be strange for the fires to have such a large distance between then when it is not so windy outside.

Officials have not determined if the fires are arson, but police were searching for a man with a backpack that may have been at the scene.

It is not yet known how the fires were sparked.
