Emaciated Dog Rescued From Garden of the Gods

Hikers found an English or Bull Mastiff dog wandering through Garden of the Gods Thursday afternoon.

Hikers told a police officer, who responded and then contacted the Humane Society.

The dog was older, emaciated and appeared to be very thirsty. Police gave the dog water while the Humane Society was en-route.

It is unclear if the dog was abandoned or if it was lost, but it will receive some treatment at the humane society.

The dog is large, with a black and gray coat and didn’t have a collar or microchip.
